Summary

Carbon Lens collects no data of any kind and makes no network requests. Everything runs locally in your browser.

What the extension reads

When you open the popup, it reads the public content of the page you are viewing — title, meta description, structured data and visible text — only at that moment, only on the active tab, and only to compute the estimate.

It has no background access to your browsing and no host permissions.

What is stored

Your settings are kept in Chrome local extension storage. Per-page assumption edits are kept in Chrome session storage and are cleared when the browser session ends.

Both live on your device only.

What is transmitted

Nothing. No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no accounts, no external services.

Data we collect as the developer

None. We have no servers and no access to anything you do with the extension.

Changes

If a future version changes any of the above, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated before publication.
